4. Visa & Entry Information for International Visitors

Visa-Free Entry

China has extended its unilateral visa-free policy for citizens of 50 countries holding valid ordinary passports, valid through December 31, 2026 (Russia through December 31, 2027). Eligible travelers can enter China for business, tourism, family visits, exchange programs, or transit for stays of up to 30 days without a visa.

Eligible countries include: Brunei, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, South Korea, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Russia, Sweden, Canada, and the UK.

Visa-free entry applies to those attending sports competitions, conferences and exhibitions, and study tours as long as the stay does not exceed 30 days. A valid ordinary passport is required. It is recommended to carry invitation letters, air tickets, and hotel reservations as supporting documents for your stated purpose of entry.

Note: Visa-free entry does not apply to those coming for work, study, or news coverage.

If You Need a Visa

Travelers from countries not covered by the visa-free policy should apply at a Chinese embassy or consulate in advance. A standard M-visa (business visa) is appropriate for trade fair attendance.

5. Transportation Between the Three Cities

Guangzhou ⇄ Hong Kong (High-Speed Rail)

The Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link runs between Guangzhou South Station and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, with approximately 52–53 departures daily.

Guangzhou ⇄ Shenzhen (High-Speed Rail)

The Guangzhou South–Shenzhen North route takes only 36–40 minutes, with second-class tickets starting from approximately SGD 13.83 (about CNY 70).

Shenzhen ⇄ Hong Kong (High-Speed Rail)

With around 132 daily departures, trains from Shenzhen Futian to HK West Kowloon take just 14 minutes, and from Shenzhen North approximately 18–29 minutes.

Practical Tips

Book high-speed rail tickets in advance through the official 12306 APP or website, especially during peak trade fair periods.

Allow extra time at border crossings — both the Shenzhen-Hong Kong land crossings and the West Kowloon high-speed rail station require customs and immigration processing.

Consider staying in Shenzhen as a base: hotels are generally more affordable than Hong Kong, and the high-speed rail makes Hong Kong day trips very feasible.

6. Suggested Itinerary

For international visitors planning to attend all three events, here is a suggested schedule:

Dates Event Location

Oct 13–16 Hong Kong Electronics Fair Hong Kong

Oct 15–19 Canton Fair Phase 1 (Electronics/Manufacturing) Guangzhou

Oct 20–22 Break (Canton Fair interlude) —

Oct 23–27 Canton Fair Phase 2 (Home Products) Guangzhou

Oct 28–30 Break —

Note: The Guangzhou Adult Expo is located adjacent to the Canton Fair Complex, making it convenient to visit both on the same day during Oct 31 – Nov 2.

7. Practical Tips for Trade Fair Visitors

Business cards: Bring plenty — they are essential for networking and exchanging contact information with Chinese suppliers.

WeChat: Download WeChat before arrival. It is the primary communication tool in China and will be used for follow-ups with suppliers.

Payment: Set up Alipay or WeChat Pay linked to an international card. Mobile payment is ubiquitous; many vendors no longer accept cash. Visa and Mastercard are accepted at major hotels and upscale restaurants but not at small vendors.

Translation: Download a translation app such as Baidu Translate or Google Translate (with offline Chinese language pack) as English is not widely spoken outside major hotels and exhibition venues.

Accommodation: Book early. Hotels near the Canton Fair Complex (Pazhou area) fill up quickly during the fair. Consider staying near Metro Line 8 for easy access.

Weather: October–November is one of the best times to visit Guangdong. Expect mild temperatures (20–28°C) with low humidity — ideal for walking between venues.

Summary

The October–November 2026 trade fair season offers an exceptional opportunity for international buyers to explore China’s manufacturing capabilities across three distinct sectors: consumer electronics and innovation (Hong Kong), comprehensive export goods (Guangzhou Canton Fair), and the adult wellness industry (Guangzhou Adult Expo). With visa-free entry available for citizens of 50 countries and a seamless high-speed rail network connecting Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou in under an hour, this trade fair circuit is highly accessible and efficient for international business travelers.
